My Role

I collaborated with my team on secondary research, in-person observations, journey mapping, sketching, prototyping, and concept testing with children, parents, and museum staff.

Context

The Children's Museum of Indianapolis, the world's largest children's museum, houses a National Geographic "Treasures of the Earth" exhibit featuring a "Paint a Warrior" interactive kiosk.

The experience was outdated, confusing, and failing to engage its audience. Children lost interest within seconds and either abandoned or avoided it altogether.

Deliverables

A high-fidelity interactive Figma prototype featuring dual top and bottom screens, along with a physical prototype of the redesigned kiosk.

Impact

Museum staff called it "definitely an upgrade" and "fun as heck." Children rated it a "10/10 experience" and were particularly excited about the physical interactions. All participants achieved the museum's learning objectives by the end of the experience.
